Initial Announcement


Hi readers. I've been working on this game for 10 days (18-21 hours, by my count...2 hours/day is my goal), and I project hop a lot but I have a good feeling about this one!

As I mentioned in the product description, I really like the idea of Barotrauma, but it's hard to play solo and it's hard to play with friends. I'm looking to make a game that has competent-enough bots for solo and is easy enough for friends to pick up -- a nice "easy to learn, lifetime months to master" kind of game that's fun and satisfying.

I also want it to be one where the players actually work together and communicate. One example I run through my head a lot is the captain/navigator driving the sandcrawler and making decisions, while taking in information from the front view and what the person on the radar station is telling them. Then, based on this, they can call out suggested power allocations to the engineer, who can choose to implement them verbatim or make adjustments. Both the captain and the engineer need to balance the needs of the rest of the crew to ensure the ship and everyone on it gets safely to the next safe stop.

Anyway, I plan on doing frequent updates here about all manner of topics. Hopefully I'll stick with it, and hopefully you'll join me! I could use the encouragement 😅
